Lent is a season of preparation and repentance leading up to Easter. This year Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 22, and continues until the Easter Vigil on the night of Saturday, April 8.
Lent is an opportunity to fast from something or give something up. It is also a time, perhaps, to take up something new—some new spiritual practice, study, scriptural or devotional reading.
This webpage is full of resources and information for your Lenten journey toward Easter.
As with many things in life so it is for Lent, you get out what you put in. In this case, if you spend time this February and March making for yourself a holy Lent, spending the extra time on your spiritual journey, you will be abundantly rewarded with a joyous and festive Easter season. The more intentional the Lent, the more meaningful and joyful your Easter will be. Remember, Lent may be 40 days, but Easter—the season in which we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus—is a 50 day party!
I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word. And, to make a right beginning of repentance, and as a mark of our mortal nature, let us now kneel before the Lord, our maker and redeemer.

Lenten Programs
Lenten Mixtape – Wednesday @ 6:30pm on Zoom – March 1 & March 15

Our Rector’s musical tastes are nothing if not eclectic! Join him on an exploration of music suitable to the season. These sessions will be held on two Wednesday evenings in March, beginning at 6:30pm, using the Compline Zoom Link. Each session will end with a Compline service. Due to the wealth of subject matter, the actual start time of Compline may be delayed from it’s regular 7:30pm time. We hope that those of you who faithfully attend Compline will join us at the earlier time and continue through to the prayer time. You’ll find the Zoom link in the Acts of the Apostles email or you sign up on Eventbrite to receive the link by email.
