Partnerships are an important way that we witness to the saving power of God in Christ. We are honored to work along side our partners for the common good and toward the Kingdom of God.
Darby Mission
The Darby Mission is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania that serves the community of Darby Borough through community meals, feeding programs, after school programs, and innovative youth initiatives. Holy Apostles is a committed partner of the Darby Mission. We have been enriched by our ongoing friendship with our neighbors and friends in Darby, and proud to host community meals, and help spread God’s love in any way we can.
All proceeds from the sales of our private label coffee – Apostles’ Cup – go to support the Darby Mission and their endeavors.
In June 2022, one of our parishioners took on the task of creating a vegetable garden at the Darby Mission house as part of his Eagle Scout service project. The crops from the garden will be used to supplement the monthly food giveaway hosted by the mission.

Project Share
Project Share Recovery Learning Center, located at 7200 Chestnut Street in Upper Darby, offers self-help, mutual support, information and referral, peer support, vocational and social integration into the community. SHARE Recovery workers facilitate classes that teach practical skills such as budgeting and WRAP, and other life skills to reintegrate back into the community and support the individual’s recovery process.
Beginning in June 2021 CHA parishioners have been making brown bag lunches to provide to Project Share’s clients. We have made cold cut sandwiches, grilled cheese, hot dogs and hoagies. We welcome any ideas for variety and tastiness in the lunches we provide. Currently we are making lunches for 20 people on a weekly basis every other month.
We have also taken on donation campaigns for other needs of Project Share clients such as clothing drives and personal care items.
Guatamela Partnership
La Congregacion de la Iglesia Episcopal San Pedro y San Pablo, Mixco, Guatemala – Rev. Juan José Salazar. The Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania is a companion diocese to the Episcopal Diocese of Guatemala. This is our sister congregation. We frequently pray for each other, and sometimes work on mutual projects.
Connect-by-Night
For over 25 years, Holy Apostles partnered with Connect-by-Night to house our friends and neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. For one month a year, we welcome guests to sleep in our church building, offer occasions for them to join in worship, and share food, toiletries, and other hospitality items. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Connect-By-Night program has had to close. We look forward to renewing a partnership with them if/when they reopen in the future.
