Voice for Life Curriculum
We use is the Voice for Life curriculum, published by the Royal School of Church Music. This in-depth program teaches good vocal technique and develops music notation, theory, sight-reading, and aural skills. In addition, it enables children to understand the music in relation to its musical and historical context. The program emphasizes the importance of commitment and responsibility and rewards diligent practice.
Herman Giersch Legacy
One of the founding members of the Church of the Holy Apostles, Dr. Herman Giersch, died in 2017 at the age of 101. Dr. Giersch was a respected figure in the musical world of Lower Merion Township. His accomplishments include teaching music to elementary, middle, and high school students, directing the musicals for the Narberth Community Theater, and singing in the church choir. Dr. Giersch’s bequest to the Church of the Holy Apostles inspired this choir school, which will honor him by teaching students about music while fulfilling a community need for after school care.
