DARBY MISSION

If you have small boxes to contribute along with your jars/cans of pasta sauce, it would make the transport from church to recreation center much easier!
If you need assistance getting your donations to the church, please contact Katie in the church office to arrange transport: holyapostlespa@gmail.com or 610-642-6617

Shelf-Stable Milk

Shelf-stable milk is just like regular milk you find in the refrigerated dairy case but, like the name suggests – it is shelf-stable – meaning it can sit on the shelf in your pantry for a much longer time before spoilage occurs, and then refrigerated when ready to use because cold milk always tastes best!
There are other suppliers, but Parmalat is most well known (to me, anyway).
We are looking to provide shelf-stable milk along with breakfast cereal and pop tarts for the June Food giveaway. You can find it in the coffee and creamer aisle of your grocery store.
If you would prefer to have us do the shopping for this item, you can contribute to the effort – just note the funds as being for “Outreach: Milk donation.” Each quart of shelf-stable milk is just under $3.00.

+ INSTALLATION OF
THE REV. JEREMIAH MUSTERED
Our dear friend and former Deacon, Jeremiah Mustered, will be installed as the Rector of St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 126 Black Rock Road, Oaks, PA 19465 during a Celebration of New Ministry on Saturday, May 20th @ 10AM. You are welcome to attend this special event!

+ **NEW** BOOKS WANTED
Your Good News team will be hosting a booth at this year’s Overbrook Park Community Day on Saturday, June 10, from 12pm-5pm and will be handing out information about Holy Apostles.
In addition, e are working on a collection of NEW children’s books (K-6) so the kids in attendance can choose a book or two for themselves. Pictured below are some donated items so far.

How can you help?
- Donate a new children’s book to the cause. We have found excellent deals at both Scholastic.com and Costco, believe it or not! At either location you can get good prices on individual or boxed books. Boxed sets will be separated for distribution. And it’s no problem if we end up with duplicates!
- Donate monies toward this effort: Book prices are running about $3-8 each or a boxed set for $20-25. Mark “Outreach: New Books”
Thank you for anything you care to contribute between now and June 2.

+ DEADLINE FOR JUNE NEWSLETTER CONTRIBUTIONS
If you have something you would like to contribute to the June newsletter, please submit it to the office no later than 5pm on Thursday, May 25th.
+ JUNE NEWSLETTER MAILING
Join us in the Memorial Room on Tuesday, May 30 @ 12:30PM for an hour of folding, stuffing, stamping and laughter. Everyone is welcome!

Each bag is $15, with $4 from each purchase going directly to the ministries of the Darby Mission. We have plenty of coffee available for purchase on Sundays, or any time the office is open (see Office Hours schedule below). You can also purchase Apostle’s Cup coffee direct from House Cup Coffee and have it shipped to your door!
+ MAY WE PRAY FOR YOU?
Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer,

+ A VIDEO MESSAGE FROM BISHOP DANIEL
“For many of us, church is the place where those deep connections with Christ and one another are formed. …but for some, church is a place where we are lonely. Surrounded by people that never really accept us but smile as we enter.” Watch now.

+ STAND WITH IRAQI CHRISTIANS EVENT – MONDAY, MAY 15 @ 1:30pm
Stand With Iraqi Christians (SWIC)is inviting everyone to a service of Holy Eucharist and an informational forum at The Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral (19 South 38th St) on Monday, May 15 @ 1:30pm.
They will welcome The Rev Canon Faiz Jerjes and Mr. Sinan Karakash, two leaders of St George’s Church, Baghdad, which is the only Anglican Church in Iraq. Father Faiz and Sinan will discuss the current situation of Christians in Iraq and what is needed to ensure they have a safe and economically viable future in their homeland.
Stand With Iraqi Christian’s mission is to offer friendship and financial assistance to Iraqi Christians and their communities as they work to restore peace, rebuild society, and secure a future for their children. Conceived and nourished by people just like you, SWIC was founded in 2015 at St Martin’s Church, Radnor. Under the leadership of The Rev Chris Bishop, and with the encouragement and support of the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, and our Diocese, we heard and responded to the crise of those in Iraq who had suffered much and yearned for a new start.
If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Pam Faber at treasurerswic@gmail.com. Consider joining in on this special event.
