Project Share Self-Care BBQ

Wednesday, May 17
11am-3pm
7200 Chestnut Street
Upper Darby PA

DelCo Project Share is hosting a Self-care Cook-Out to serve their participants. We have been invited to this great event to socialize, meet and greet their participants whom we have been providing for over the last three years.

Different organization have offered to help with the supplies for the barbecue. Holy Apostles will be providing the main course: Hamburgers. Chicken, Sausage and Hot Dogs. We have funds in Outreach to cover these costs. If you would like to contribute to defray the costs, please speak to Cassie.

In addition, we are looking to provide homemade baked goods: Cakes, Pies, Cookies or Brownies. If you are interested in baking for this event, please let Cassie know.

Magazines Needed

THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 30, IS THE LAST DAY TO BRING IN YOUR OLD MAGAZINES OR CATALOGUES for projects at Park Lane Elementary and Project Share. If you have any magazines lying around that would be suitable, please remove any address labels and then drop them off on the Outreach shelves or the CAN-estoga wagon.

+ BRING IN A CHAIR!

These chairs were under the tent during last Saturday’s storm that massacred our event tent (a moment of silence, please)…

Your trusty Senior Warden played hooky on Monday afternoon to collect all the remaining debris and wash mud off of the chairs. Now you can help with the next step. The chairs are stacked outside the “mailbox” doors. If you are able, please grab a chair or two and bring it inside to the Memorial Room where we stack them on the left side wall behind the couch. Thanks!

+ POCKETS OF HOPE RETURNING!

On Saturday, May 6, the Pockets of Hope group will be returning to the Parish Hall.

Pockets of Hope is a non-profit organization providing free mastectomy sweatshirts for after surgery. If you know how to sew and are interested in helping sew pockets into zip up hoodies for women recovering from their mastectomy surgery, come join us – just bring your sewing machine.

Can’t sew? Don’t have a machine? No worries – there are other ways to help including cutting, ironing and the beauty of fellowship! Check out @_pocketsofhope on Instagram. Questions? kiersten.wertz@gmail.com

+ PUT YOUR TRASH ROSARY SKILLS TO WORK!

Overbrook Park Civic Association is hosting Clean Up days at Rose Playground at 75th Street and Lansdowne Avenue on select Saturdays through November. We pray for the Rose Playground area twice a week in our Parish Prayer List: on Sundays we pray for 75th Street and on Tuesdays we pray for Lansdowne Avenue. Why not add an additional day per month of praying for that area during a clean up day? The next scheduled date is May 13th. If you find yourself available between 9am-11am stop by and lend a hand! Need a refresher of Fr. James’ “Trash Rosary” article? – you can re-read it here
