If sandwiches are more your thing, we still need volunteers for our each of our June lunch deliveries on June 13 and June 27.

  • You can opt to make the sandwiches yourself – with materials that you purchase or have provided by our Outreach ministry team
  • You can choose to pay for hoagies to be provided from Centrella’s for $100, payable to CHA: Outreach. (one 9-foot meat and cheese hoagie + 1 tuna hoagie which together provide sandwiches for just over 40 people) We will do the pickup and delivery for you.

Project Share Self-Care BBQ

Wednesday, May 17
7200 Chestnut Street
Upper Darby PA

DelCo Project Share is hosting a Self-care Cook-Out to serve their participants. We have been invited to this great event to socialize, meet and greet their participants whom we have been providing for over the last three years.

Different organization have offered to help with the supplies for the barbecue. Holy Apostles will be providing the main course: Hamburgers. Chicken, Sausage and Hot Dogs. We have funds in Outreach to cover these costs. If you would like to contribute to defray the costs, please speak to Cassie.

In addition, we are looking to provide homemade baked goods: Cakes, Pies, Cookies or Brownies. If you are interested in baking for this event, please let Cassie know.

Magazines Needed

We are extending our call for magazines through the month of April as we now have projects lined up at Park Lane Elementary and Project Share. If you have any magazines lying around that would be suitable, please remove any address labels and then drop them off on the Outreach shelves or the CAN-estoga wagon. This is a short-term collection item.

Catch up with Cassie
Reach her via email:; or phone/text: 610-608-5440

If you have something you’d like to contribute to the May edition of The Apostle newsletter – an article/essay, announcement, artwork, etc. – please submit it to the office by 5pm on Tuesday, April 25th.

Join us in the Memorial Room on Friday, April 28 @ 10:30AM for an hour of folding, stuffing, stamping and laughter. Everyone is welcome!

We have been invited to a barbecue to meet and mingle with the folks we’ve been helping over the past three years. Scroll back up to the OUTREACH section of this email for more details!

On Saturday, May 6, the Pockets of Hope group will be returning to the Parish Hall.

Pockets of Hope is a non-profit organization providing free mastectomy sweatshirts for after surgery. If you know how to sew and are interested in helping sew pockets into zip up hoodies for women recovering from their mastectomy surgery, come join us – just bring your sewing machine.

Can’t sew? Don’t have a machine? No worries – there are other ways to help including cutting, ironing and the beauty of fellowship! Check out @_pocketsofhope on Instagram. Questions?

You can purchase bags of Apostles Cup in regular-ground; regular-whole bean; and/or decaf-ground varieties. Each bag is $15, with $4 from each purchase going directly to the ministries of the Darby Mission. We have plenty of coffee available for purchase on Sundays, or any time the office is open (see Office Hours schedule below). You can also purchase Apostle’s Cup coffee direct from House Cup Coffee and have it shipped to your door!

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
