Grilled Cheese Lunches
Cold Sandwiches – April thru June
Beginning on April 4, we will switch from Grilled Cheese to lunch meat sandwiches to go along with sweet treats, fruit and beverages. There are two options available to you to help with the main dish:
- You can opt to make the sandwiches yourself – with materials that you purchase or have provided by our Outreach ministry team
- You can choose to pay for hoagies to be provided from Centrella’s for $100, payable to CHA: Outreach. (one 9-foot meat and cheese hoagie + 1 tuna hoagie which together provide sandwiches for just over 40 people) We will do the pickup and delivery for you.
When you sign up for a lunch, please use the NOTE field to specify which option you’re choosing.
The dates for lunches are:
April 4 & 18
May 2, 16 & 30
June 13 & 27
Use our SignUpGenius page, or talk to Cassie to volunteer your services.
Magazines Needed
Between now and March 26th we will be accepting magazines to be used for collage projects at Park Lane Elementary. If you have any magazines lying around that would be suitable, please remove any address labels and then drop them off on the Outreach shelves or the CAN-estoga wagon. This is a short-term collection item for a specific project for Jess Geffen with her students.

+ LENTEN FORUMS – THE IMPORTANCE OF HOLY WEEK

Don’t miss the last of our Adult Forums this Sunday, March 26, on the importance of Holy Week!. We will be meeting in the Memorial Room after the 10AM service. Grab your coffee or tea and a sweet treat and join us!
+ LENTEN JAM OF THE REV. JONATHAN JAMESON
Rev. Jameson, guest speaker at our Lenten Mixtape – Side B session, has provided us with his own Lenten playlist. You can listen on Apple Music or YouTube (a playlist on CHA’s YouTube page).
+ EASTER LAWN SIGNS
You, too, can have this lovely lawn ornament! We still have a few signs left. If you would like to spread the news about Easter celebrations at Holy Apostles, please pick up a sign during office hours or at Coffee Hour following either Sunday service.
+ TENT RAISING – APRIL 1 @ 9AM
It’s no April Fool’s joke, folks! We could use a little help with the re-raising of the tent for some events through the Easter season. With two people, it should take about an hour. With more helping hands, it will be done in no time! If you have a bit of time to help out, please do. You don’t want to leave your Senior Warden with just the Parish Admin as a helper. Trust me on this. 31 years of marriage could be at stake!
+ ALTAR OF REPOSE
The altar of repose will be set up in the prayer closet off of the narthex. Vigil will be kept from 9PM on Maundy Thursday following the evening service, until 9:15AM on Good Friday, followed by Morning Prayer. If you would like to take part in the vigil tradition, you can sign up for one or more one-hour sessions using our Sign-up sheet.
If you have questions or need assistance in signing up for your vigil slot, please contact Katie – office@holyapostlespa.org – 610-642-6617
+ EASTER ALTAR FLOWERS
Easter is quickly approaching. It will be a glorious time of rejoicing, remembrance, and thanksgiving. This is true because we believe that those whom we love and see no longer will one day live again through the power and the light of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is what we celebrate at Easter.
To put earthly beauty in the service of our heavenly faith in Jesus, it is our custom at Holy Apostles to remember our deceased friends and family members with a beautiful array of Easter flowers. If you would like to participate in this custom, please send, or hand deliver the names of the deceased loved ones you would like to remember to the church office along with a donation.
The suggested donation is $10.00 per name, but please do give only as you are able and so moved.
TO PARTICIPATE:
- Send your check along with a list of those to be remembered to the church:
1020 Remington Rd, Wynnewood PA 19096
—OR— - Use the Give button on our website to make an electronic donation. The “To” list includes an option for Flower Memorials. If you choose this option, please email your list of those to be remembered to Patty Wertz (psw17@comcast.net ) or to the church office (office@holyapostlespa.org)
Deadline: Please have your requests to us no later than April 3.
+ NEWSLETTER MAILING AND LEAFLET FOLDING EXTRAVAGANZA!
Come to the Memorial Room on Friday, March 31, @ 10:30AM to prepare the monthly newsletter mailing and get a sneak peak at the Palm Sunday and Holy Week leaflets as we fold (and fold and fold) them for services. We don’t offer snacks since sticky fingers are bad for paper projects, but we do have fun laughing and chatting together. Join us!
+ PREPARING THE CHURCH FOR OUR EASTER CELEBRATIONS
You are invited to join the members of our Altar Guild on Saturday, April 8 at 9:30am to help decorate the sanctuary for this year’s Easter Celebrations. Please come and lend a hand!
+ Join the Outreach Ministry Team!
Cassie is looking for 1-2 folks to join the Outreach ministry team to help plan events and to assist with organization, pickups and deliveries.
Perks include in person meetings with House Cup beverages and treats – as well as knowing that you are a vital component in CHA helping to meet the needs of those in our community and beyond!
If you would like to learn more about how you can help, please contact Cassie:
Email: grammysqrd@gmail.com; or phone/text: 610-608-5440
+ A JUBILEE CELEBRATION AT HOLY APOSTLES – THURSDAY, APRIL 13 @ 6:00 PM
The Bishop’s staff will be visiting us on Thursday, April 13 for a time of fellowship. If the weather cooperates, we’ll be meeting on the front lawn under the tent! No need to bring anything except yourself, your friends & family, and your love of Holy Apostles! Make plans now to join the party!
+ STAY WARM WITH APOSTLE’S CUP!
You can purchase bags of regular-ground; regular-whole bean; and/or decaf-ground varieties. Each bag is $15, with $4 from each purchase going directly to the ministries of the Darby Mission. We have plenty of coffee available for purchase on Sundays, or any time the office is open (see Office Hours schedule below). You can also purchase Apostle’s Cup coffee direct from House Cup Coffee and have it shipped to your door!
RECYCLING: We are collecting the metal clips on House Cup coffee bags to recycle them back to House Cup for reuse. There should be a jar on the coffee sales table for this purpose – but if Katie forgets to put it out, you can leave your clips on her desk (that will teach her!)
+ MAY WE PRAY FOR YOU?
Answer me when I call, O God of my right!
You gave me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer.
Psalm 4:1
The Parish Prayer list is included in the monthly newsletter that is sent through the mail. Additional copies are also available on the table in the narthex and on our website. To add your prayer needs to the list, you can contact Fr. James, Nancy Haas, or use the form on our website.
- Please pray for Rick Gallagher’s mom – Phil Gallagher. She was diagnosed with leukemia this past weekend (added to Fridays on the prayer list).
- Please pray for those who will be baptized during the Easter season: Jordi Geli Vilardell (grandchild of Ann Powers) and Abigail Clare Buschenfeldt (grandchild of Nancy Haas), their families and godparents.
- Thankful for answered prayer, you may remove Harvey & Barbara from the Saturday prayer list.
Prayer – it’s not just words, it’s a lifestyle

+ AN EXCERPT FROM BISHOP DANIEL’S LATEST LETTER
You can find the full text using the link below.
“In my March letter, I asked if our Churches “look like Jesus?” During the closing weeks of Lent, I want us to also consider the question: How do we look at the world? …
As I walk in the footsteps of Christ, I imagine how our Lord looked at all the people in the markets of Jerusalem. I doubt Jesus walked and immediately designated people into groups, social or economic classes or considered their birthplace or the language they spoke. I suspect he looked at all of them with compassion and love: rich, poor, religious, doubting, zealots, Romans. Everyone. Jesus looked at their hearts. “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
