Episcopal Relief & Development – Earthquake Relief Efforts

A devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake recently struck southeast Turkey and northern Syria. The reported death toll is in the thousands and climbing after buildings all over the region crumbled, burying civilians beneath the rubble. Please help us work with our local partners to provide relief and support. Make an urgent tax-deductible donation to Episcopal Relief & Development today.

Special Request: Aid for Asylum Seeking Refugees

We are currently accepting warm clothing for children and adults including
sweaters, coats, boots, hats, scarves & gloves.

You can help by:

  • purchasing items and dropping them off on the Outreach shelves in the narthex closet
  • purchasing items and shipping them directly to the church – please remember to mark your packages “Attention: Outreach”
  • making a donation to Outreach – marking “Refugees” in the memo line and it will be used to purchase specifically requested items for this project.

We will be collecting items for at least the next month, and will continue as long as busloads of folks in need are arriving. Items will be delivered to or picked up by Gladwyne Presbyterian on a weekly basis to insure getting the donated items to those in need as quickly as possible. Questions? Contact Katie

Have you been thinking about joining Bible Study but were worried about coming in on the middle of something? Worry no more! We have just completed an 11-month study of the Gospel of John, and beginning Thursday, February 16, we’re starting something new! For our next study, instead of working through one particular book of the Bible, we’ll be doing a Lenten study with materials from multiple sources. This is a great time to join us! Bible Study Zoom Link Questions? Contact Nancy Haas or Father James

Join us for an event in the parking lot on Tuesday, February 21! Chilly temps? Not a problem! We’ll have the firepit going, as well as our two propane heaters!

  • We will be burning last year’s palms to create this year’s ashes
  • Bring your own palms to burn if you’d like
  • Face it – it’s always fun to watch Fr. James play with fire.

  • A flattop grill will be onsite so we can all enjoy some silver dollar pancakes in honor of Shrove Tuesday.

  • Come enjoy the fire and each other in a pre-Lent get-together for ALL AGES!!!
  • Bring along snacks and beverages for yourself or to share!

We will again be hosting the Pockets of Hope group on Saturday, March 4, from 9am to 1pm. Pockets of Hope is a non-profit organization providing FREE mastectomy hoodies with drain pockets for after surgery.

If you know how to sew and have a sewing machine of your own, you are most welcome to join them in their time of stitching and fellowship. And if their last visit was any indication, they have some pretty great snacks as well!

To learn how you can help this project, contact Kiersten Wertz Lopez at or just show up on the 4th with your sewing machine!

Two sessions was not quite enough time to discuss all the topics found in our Winter Book Study selection: A Post-COVID Catechesis by Victor Lee Austin. Many thanks to all who participated in person and over Zoom in one or both parts of the study. Recordings were made of each session and are available on our YouTube channel: Part 1 Part 2

Emma Gallagher is selling Girl Scout Cookies now through March 12th! She will have them at church when possible, but you can order online for girl delivery at any time and we will drop them off! You can also order by texting Michelle Gallagher at 610-659-2109. Cookies are $5/box (Gluten Free $6/box).

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY: You can support the Girls Scouts and our Outreach Ministry by ordering a few extra boxes to be shared with the Darby Mission or as part of our Project Share lunch program! Your donated boxes can be placed on the shelves in the Outreach closet, in the CAN-estoga wagon in the office hallway, or give them to Cassie for safekeeping.

You can purchase bags of regular-ground; regular-whole bean; and/or decaf-ground varieties. Each bag is $15, with $4 from each purchase going directly to the ministries of the Darby Mission.
