Special Request: Aid for Asylum Seeking Refugees

We plan to continue to help meet the needs of refugee asylum seekers being bussed into our area. A specific list of needs will be announced as soon as it is available.

You can help by:

  • purchasing items and dropping them off on the Outreach shelves in the narthex closet
  • purchasing items and shipping them directly to the church – please remember to mark your packages “Attention: Outreach”
  • making a donation to Outreach – marking “Refugees” in the memo line and it will be used to purchase specifically requested items for this project.

We will be collecting items for at least the next month, and will continue as long as busloads of folks in need are arriving. Items will be delivered to or picked up by Gladwyne Presbyterian on a weekly basis to insure getting the donated items to those in need as quickly as possible. Questions? Contact Katie

DARBY MISSION

December Food Giveaway:

THANK YOU for your continued generosity! For 2023, we are working on creating a quarterly schedule of needs for the Food Pantry. Additional items may be added from time to time, but we hope that knowing a schedule of needs ahead of time will help you take advantage of sales or bulk purchase opportunities.

You can leave your donations:

  • on the Outreach shelves in the narthex closet
  • in the CANestoga wagon in the office hallway
  • ship them directly to the church Attn: Outreach

If you need assistance getting your donations to the church, please contact Katie in the church office to arrange transport: holyapostlespa@gmail.com or 610-642-6617

The Mission served 165 people in December. They could have fed more people but ran out of food and gift cards. Your contributions are greatly appreciated!

+ A CALL TO ACTION – CHRIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH, POTTSTOWN
For 200 years, Christ Episcopal Church (CEC) in Pottstown has tried to carry out Jesus’ message of loving their neighbor. This summer, CEC and other churches in Pottstown were threatened with legal action and told by borough officials that feeding the poor, providing counseling and free toiletries was outside the realm of what churches do. Last week, Pottstown officials went a step further and shut down an overnight shelter operating inside another church. Faith groups believe this is a concerted effort to push out people living on the margins and is a violation of their First Amendment rights. Follow this link to find out how you can help.
