DARBY MISSION

November Collection items:
THANK YOU to all who contributed to our Celebration Cake Kit project. We were able to deliver 65 complete kits to the Darby Food Giveaway this week!

Project Share
Bi-Monthly Dinners
Our dinner deliveries to Project Share continue to be well received. Thank you to all who contribute to this vital ministry. The November 22 and December 6 meals are now completely covered!
Open needs for the meal delivery on December 20 are:
- Entrée – Chef’s choice – Mac and cheese, ground beef casserole, chicken and rice, etc.
- Apples for 20
- Sweet treat – brownies, cookies and cupcakes are favorites, but you do you.
- Coffee donation – pay for a bag of Apostle’s Cup to be delivered along with the meal.
- Cold beverages – three gallons of Tea Cooler from Swiss Farms, or Iced Tea/Lemonade from a store of your choosing.
Food needs to be ready in time for delivery on Tuesdays at 1:30pm. Entrées should be fully cooked, but they do not have to be hot at time of pickup (just not frozen). You do not have to make delivery yourself. Someone from the Outreach team can arrange to pick up the food and deliver to Project Share.
Sign up on our SignUpGenius page, or talk to Cassie or Katie to offer assistance.
Advent Bags
If you have any last minute donations for this year’s Advent Bags for Project Share, please bring them to the church by this Sunday, November 20, as we will be filling the bags on that day, following the 10AM service. Fr. James will ask God’s blessing on the Advent bags during services on November 27, and they will be distributed that week.
If you are purchasing items online, you can choose to ship directly to the church. Please mark the package as Attention: Outreach. Thanks!

+ STEWARDSHIP SEASON 2022 – LIVES OF THANKSGIVING
From Fr. James’ Stewardship Season letter: “Give as an act of faithful love. Give as an act of gratitude. Give knowing that blessings are fluid and dynamic. Keep the dynamism of God’s blessing moving and you’ll find that you will be blessed exceedingly, over and over, pressed down, shaken together, flowing over, beyond what you could ask or imagine.”

Please make your pledge by November 20th using a pledge card from your newsletter envelope or from the narthex table, or by using this link to Realm: https://onrealm.org/holyapostlespa/AddPledge/generalfund.
+ THANKSGIVING EVE – EVENING PRAYER AND FIRESIDE RECEPTION
Plan now to attend Evening Prayer on Wednesday, November 23rd beginning at 6:30pm and stay after for a fireside reception in the Memorial Room. Bring an appetizer and/or beverage to share and start the holiday season off right with your church family.

+ JOIN THE CHOIR FOR ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS
Anyone with a bit of choir experience is invited to join Holy Apostles’ choir for the Christmas season. This would take a limited commitment of time but would yield a great deal of fun and meaning. Our choir is a warm group of folks who are working hard in a ministry they love and they will welcome you. This is a Sunday morning commitment with no rehearsals during the week. Contact the office – 610-642-6617 or holyapostlespa@gmail.com – to volunteer of for more information. Or visit Jamie at the organ bench on Sunday! Click here to listen to the anthem from last week, pictured above.
The following limited commitment is needed:

- Sunday, November 27, 2022
- Sunday, December 4, 2022
- Sunday, December 11, 2022 (Bishop’s Visit)
- Sunday, December 18, 2022
- Saturday, Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022 @ 10PM service

+ DISMANTLING THE EVENT TENT
This Sunday, following the 10AM service, assistance will be needed to dismantle and pack up the event tent for the season. Help is also needed in moving the heaters to the driveway area behind the kitchen and relocating the chairs and tables.
+ ATTIC REORGANIZATION
A small but intrepid group got a great start on reorganizing the attic storage area last weekend. There are some items of unknown provenance, including a wardrobe, bed frame and 9 or 10 black straight-back chairs. If you know to whom these items belong, please contact the office or Annette Smith so we can complete the reorganization project. + HOLY LAND ADVENT CALENDAR from the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem
Start each day of Advent with a splash of joy! What better way to learn about the Christian witness of the current-day followers of Jesus in the place where he was born, lived, and ministered than a daily journey across the Holy Land.
Beginning on December 1 American Friends will launch its annual online Holy Land Advent calendar to offer a daily glimpse into the lives of Holy Land Christians and the humanitarian ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem in Palestine, Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon.
Our Holy Land Advent calendar offers a way for individuals and families to participate in a meaningful daily Advent devotion. Who knows what you’ll discover behind each new door?
Check out the calendar at www.afedj.org/advent. Visit the calendar each day beginning December 1 or sign up here to receive a daily email alert. (You’ll need to subscribe to receive 2022 calendar alerts even if you subscribed last year.)
We hope you’ll join us on a daily journey of discovery and inspiration this Advent season.
+ MAY WE PRAY FOR YOU?
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
