Project Share
Meals
In order to meet the changing needs of the Project Share clients, beginning on Tuesday, October 11, and continuing every other Tuesday through December, we will be changing from Lunches to Dinners.
The need for apples, sweets and coffee remain unchanged. However, for the main dish we are looking for volunteers to make casseroles. We need enough to feed 18-20 people. The actual dish is chef’s choice – whatever you would like to make. Some suggestions are: Macaroni & Cheese (with or without ground beef); Lasagna; Chicken and Rice, Ground Beef and Rice, Beef Noodle Casserole, etc. You can even mix and match casseroles – or team up with a friend and each make a casserole for 10 people.
Food needs to be ready in time for delivery on Tuesdays at 3:30pm. You do not have to make delivery yourself. Someone from the Outreach team can arrange to pick up the food and deliver to Project Share.
There are openings in October, November and December! To sign up for all or any part of dinner provision for a given week, talk to Cassie or Katie, or sign up here.
Looking Ahead…
Once again this year we will be looking to provide Advent Bags to the clients of Project Share. We will be filling 20-25 bags. The bags themselves are already provided. These are the primary items we’ll be looking for to fill the bags:
- Fanny packs
- Hand Warmers
- Foot Warmers
- Men’s thermal underwear in sizes Large and Extra Large
- Women’s thermal underwear in sizes Medium, Large, and Extra Large
- Men’s regular underwear in sizes Large and Extra Large
- Women’s regular underwear in sizes 7 to 10
- Personal care items such as:
- toothbrushes
- toothpaste
- deodorant
- travel size shampoo, conditioner
- travel size skin lotions
- travel size mouthwash (no alcohol)
- travel size hand sanitizer
- soap
- washcloths
- hairbrush/comb
- lip balm
- wet wipes
It’s never too early to get a head start on shopping! Advent begins on Sunday, November 27. We’ll be collecting items from now through Thanksgiving. If you are purchasing online you can choose to ship items to the church. Please mark the package as Attention: Outreach. Thanks!
