Throughout this Fall we will be providing lunches of grilled cheese sandwiches, apples, sweet treats and coffee every other Tuesday. There are open dates in October, November and December! To sign up for all or any part of lunch provision for a given week, talk to Cassie, or sign up here.

Join us for a celebration of Holy Eucharist at 9:30AM in the sanctuary this week. Everyone is welcome – come as you are! This service will also be available via our livestream for those who are unable to attend in person. You can find a link and service materials here

After our combined service at 9:30AM this Sunday, please join us in the Parish Hall for a very special coffee hour in honor of Paul Emmons and his 20 years of dedicated service to Church of the Holy Apostles. Special food and drink will be available.

Have something you’d like to contribute to the October Newsletter – an article, poem, announcement, etc.? Please send your submission to the office no later than Friday, September 23 for inclusion in this month’s edition of The Apostle.

The date for dedication of our new Little (or really, Medium) Free Library is fast approaching. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss it. Join us on Sunday, September 25 beginning at 4pm as we dedicate a new symbol of outreach to our neighborhood! And bring along your pets (properly restrained on leashes or in crates, bowls, etc.) to receive a special blessing on this afternoon! This is a rain or shine event.

If you would like to help prepare the October newsletter mailing, please meet us in the Memorial Room on Wednesday, September 28th at 10:30AM for folding, stuffing, stamping and laughter.

Prayer – it’s not just words, it’s a lifestyle

Remember to pick up your supplies of Apostles’ Cup and/or CHA coffee mug from the table under the tent on Sundays! You can also stop by the office during office hours to select what you need. Apostles’ Cup coffee can also be purchased direct from House Cup Coffee. All proceeds from coffee sales go to support the programs of the Darby Mission.

Our traditional post-10AM Service Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall returns this Sunday. Please consider whether you can host a coffee hour in the coming weeks. Hosting entails bringing a treat to share or using boxed cookies which will be in the cabinet, setting up the usual condiments and supplies for coffee and tea on a table in the Parish Hall, and cleaning up at the end of Coffee Hour. we have a plan for having the Apostles’ Cup coffee made before the service. During this time, the rector and trained Eucharistic ministers may visit others to bring them the Eucharist. Meeting in outdoor spaces of homes will be preferred. Contact Fr. James if you would like to schedule a visit.

On Saturday, September 24, stop by Church of the Good Shepherd, Rosemont between 10AM and 2PM to tour their newly refurbished Retreat House. + REVIVAL – ST PAUL’S CHURCH, CHESTER – November 11 & 12, 6-8pm
Join us on November 11th and 12th at St. Paul’s Church, Chester! The next Revival will be held on November 11th and November 12th at St. Paul’s Church in Chester located at 301 9th St, Chester, PA 19013. This Revival will be held indoors.

  • On Friday, November 11th the Revival starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.
  • On Saturday, November 12th the Revival starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.

+ 2023 DIOCESAN HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE – March 15 through March 28
Join us for a pilgrimage in Israel and Palestine.

Led by the Rt. Rev. Daniel Gutiérrez this pilgrimage through the Holy Land will encounter the Gospel in stone and flesh, visiting the sights that mark the story of our faith and the people who keep that faith alive in the Holy Land today, with special emphasis on the people and institutions of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, with whom we have a covenant relationship. You will come home changed, restored, and renewed in your faith.
