  • 19 marbled composition notebooks
  • 44 boxes crayons (24 per pack)
  • 15 boxes ‘Colors of the World’ crayons (24 per pack)

  • 24 boxes of #2 pencils (12 per box)
  • 68 glue sticks

  • 3 pks Sharpies
  • 4 white glue

We could still use more:

  • black or blue ink pens
  • marbled composition books

a small representation of what’s been donated

+ FR. JAMES OUT OF THE COUNTRY
Fr. James is on pilgrimage to the Holy Land through September 8. If you have a pastoral emergency, please contact Peter Patton and he will put you in touch with someone who can assist you. Peter is also filling in as Senior Warden while Jean Gentile is on pilgrimage.
You can reach Peter at: pmpatton307@gmail.com or (215) 519-4377

+ THE LITTLE FREE LIBRARY OF CHA
Our Little Free Library has been delivered and now it needs to be constructed, painted and installed. There’s a team working on that and plans are set to have it ready for the dedication ceremony on September 25.

If you would like to contribute to this Good News project, here are some ways you can help:

  • we are accepting monetary donations of any amount to defray the cost of the books. Please write Little Free Library in the memo section of your check. We would like to provide new books whenever possible although gently used items may be considered.
  • we will need volunteers who can help curate what is in the LFL on a regular basis – organize the library, pull out unwanted items, check inventory for what needs to be replenished, etc.
  • if you have books you feel may be appropriate to our cause that you are willing to part with, you can speak to Fr. James.

We’re Celebrating &
We Want to See You There!

Come back to church and come back as a family this Fall and join us at the Good News Fiesta on Saturday, September 10th at 5:30 pm. We want to see everyone from our Holy Apostles family at the party and we’re hoping for a really great turnout!

There will be lots of yummy food from El Limon. We’ll also have adult and kid beverages and a very special taste tasting from our own spirits-master David Lees. Enjoy yard games, a piñata, music and great conversation with old and new friends.

+ A NOTE FROM BISHOP DANIEL

Dear Siblings in Christ,

For most of us, summer is a time to get away, recharge, and come back renewed. But, sometimes events beyond our control get in the way.

The last two years have taught us this lesson only too well. Events were postponed and rescheduled and sometimes they fell in ways that were not only inconvenient but extraordinarily difficult. This summer has seen the confluence of many rescheduled events. In the last three months, in addition to my regular duties and obligations, I have represented the diocese at many events originally scheduled for 2020 or 2021. This includes General Convention, Lambeth and, this week, our Holy Land Pilgrimage.

This pilgrimage has been repeatedly postponed and rescheduled for more than two years. As your spiritual leader, I have both an obligation to the pilgrims and to our covenantal relationship with the Diocese of Jerusalem to attend. While I am away, I will not only be guiding and praying with the pilgrims, I will also be meeting with Archbishop Hosam Naoum visiting the Princess Basma Center and the various ministries we support.

As usual, I will be answering emails and calls. Unfortunately, the confluence of events means I will not be able to take my vacation time this year. I am well aware of the importance of self-care, but my commitment as your shepherd does not allow me to leave my flock untended. I have informed both Standing and Trustees of this scheduling and because of this will take an extended vacation next summer.

I wanted you to know this in advance so that if you see images of me in the Holy Land on social media, you know of our commitment to engaging in God’s work throughout the communion. I am working for you. You are my priority. Please pray for me and for all the pilgrims during this time and know that I will be praying for you in some of the very places that Jesus preached, healed and prayed.

Bishop Daniel
