DARBY MISSION
June Giveaway
You generously donated 24 jars of peanut butter, 18 jars of jelly, 1 jar of applesauce and 2 boxes of cereal and in doing so assisted in feeding 155 people this month. For this month’s giveaway we also added in the 10 frozen turkey breasts previously donated by our friends at Centrellas (pictured) which Rev. Doris provided to those families most in need. Grateful thanks for your continued and reliable generosity to the needs of our neighbors!

+ INVITING SOMEONE TO CHURCH

… has never been easier! Pick up some of these cards to hand out to folks you meet in your daily travels. They contain our contact info, website URL, and service times. You can get cards from Fr. James or Katie, or from the supply on the Narthex or coffee hour tables.
+ JULY NEWSLETTER MAILING
If you would like to help prepare the July newsletter mailing, meet us in the Memorial Room on Tuesday, June 28th at 1:00PM for folding, stuffing, stamping and laughter.
+ PARKING LOT NOTE
Please be aware that Little Friends Daycare is using the parking lot area behind the kitchen for water play between 10am and noon on Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays. During those times, that portion of the parking lot will inaccessible.
+ HAPPY HOUR
Our next summer Happy Hour Fellowship is coming up! Spend some time with friends on the lawn Friday, June 24th beginning at 6pm. Bring some snacks and beverages for yourself or extra to share. Metal folding chairs available, or bring your own. Leashed dogs welcome. See you there!
+ MAY WE PRAY FOR YOU?
The principal kinds of prayer are adoration, praise, thanksgiving, penitence, oblation, intercession, and petition. (BCP p.856)
The Parish Prayer list is included in the monthly newsletter that is sent through the mail. Additional copies are also available on the table in the narthex and on our website. To add your prayer needs to the list, you can contact Fr. James, Nancy Haas, or use the form on our website.
We received some prayer requests from our neighbors during the Overbrook Park Community Day last week. Specifically:
- Carol G asks for prayers for her difficult health of late and that she find the right new job
- Tameka McGill asks for prayers that she be a good mom
- Miya Mack (pronounced ‘Mee-ya’) asks for prayers that God’s love would be felt throughout our city and that it would help bring an end to the violence
Additionally, we have a prayer request from a visitor at our Sunday service on the 12th that will be going on the prayer list for Thursdays: His name is Daniel and he asks for prayers of healing and wisdom.
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
