DARBY MISSION

April Food Donations
It’s always fun to know what we’ve gathered, right? For the April Food Giveaway, we collected: 25 jars of mustard; 21 jars of mayonnaise; 28 jars of peanut butter; 3 jars of pasta sauce; 5 bottles of ketchup; 1 jar of jelly; 3 boxes of saline packets, plus miscellaneous = 107 items total which helped the Darby Mission to feed 99 people this past Wednesday. Thanks! Watch this space to find out what we’ll be collecting for May!

PROJECT SHARE

Ponchos
We are still looking for 20-25 adult-sized ponchos for the clients of Project Share. If you can help, it’s much appreciated!

Lunches
The current plan is to provide lunches to Project Share weekly during the month of May. Lunches are prepped for delivery on Monday or Tuesday of each week. There are 5 weeks in May and plenty of opportunities to help out. For more information, catch up with Cassie at Coffee Hour, or reach her via email: grammysqrd@gmail.com; or text: 610-608-5440

+ BOOK SORTING AND LABELING
We’re at it again! We have been gifted with 9 boxes of children’s books from our friends at Cabrini and they’ll need to be sorted and labeled before donation to Park Lane Elementary or the Darby Library. If you can help, please join us in the Memorial Room on Monday, April 25 beginning at 10am!

+ MAY NEWSLETTER MAILING & LEAFLET FOLDING
If you would like to help prepare the May newsletter mailing, meet us in the Memorial Room on Friday, April 29th at 10:30AM for folding, stuffing, stamping and laughter. And while we’re there, we’ll add to the fun and prepare the Sunday leaflets as well!

+ SUNDAY SCHOOL DISCUSSION
Please plan to join us on Sunday, May1st at 9:30am for a discussion about the future of Sunday School at Church of the Holy Apostles. We want to hear from you about the ways in which we can best serve you and your children with our Children’s Education Ministry. Options include: Sunday School held after the 9am Family Service; a return to Sunday School during the 10am service; or staying with the current 9am Family service under the tent. We’d love to hear any other ideas you might have.

+ EASTER FLOWERS NEED HOMES
The lilies, hyacinths, tulips and other plants whose names are unknown (to me) may be taken home by anyone who would like to have them. Please help yourself!

+ VOLUNTEER SIGN UPS
We want to make volunteering at Church of the Holy Apostles as easy as possible. We have created a place to find all our volunteer openings in one place: https://tinyurl.com/chasignupgenius

There you can sign up for service areas such as Chalice Bearer/Acolyte, Coffee Hour, Fellowship Events, Greeters, Livestream, Outreach Events, and Readers/Intercessors, or special volunteer opportunities such as the Altar of Repose. Just choose the tab for the ministry of your choice. Click on over and check it out! Some pages are still being set up with all their slots, so check back often. Questions? Click on the email link at the top of any signup page to contact the coordinator for that area of service.

We are especially in need of folks to assist with Coffee Hour and to be Greeters and Chalice Bearers! If you have questions about these positions, contact Judy Jervis (coffee hour); Linda Day (greeters); or Father James (chalice bearers).

+ MAY WE PRAY FOR YOU?
Intercession brings before God the needs of others (BCP p.857)
The Parish Prayer list is included in the monthly newsletter that is sent through the mail. Additional copies are also available on the table in the Narthex. To add your prayer needs to the list, you can contact Fr. JamesNancy Haas, or use the form on our website.

We ask that you especially keep Tim & Cassie Woestman in your daily prayers. Tim feels his fibrosis is advancing faster than ever. Mornings between 5am and 10am are the hardest part of the day.

+ EUCHARISTIC VISITS
During this time, the rector and trained Eucharistic ministers may visit others to bring them the Eucharist. Meeting in outdoor spaces of homes will be preferred. Contact Fr. James if you would like to schedule a visit.

+ GIVING
You can still mail pledge contributions to the church at this time. The mail is checked regularly. You can also securely give online. Go to holyapostlespa.org and click on the “Give” button on the top right hand corner of the webpage.

John & Linda Day invite you to guess where they are in their travels!
Hint: This plane behind John is named the “warthog” and was found in a most unusual location in Colorado! John says you can get more information about the plane from Jim Jervis!
Remember to pick up your own Holy Apostles magnet from the narthex or coffee hour table and take it wherever you find yourself.
