In January we will again be providing weekly lunches to the Project Share clients. If you can help or have questions on how to participate, please contact Cassie. You can reach her via text (610-608-5440) or email (grammysqrd@gmail.com) or – her favorite – chat her up at coffee hour!

DARBY MISSION

Neckties & Shoelaces!
The Darby Mission after school program would like to teach the younger boys how to tie ties! If you have neckties that you are no longer wearing, please consider donating them to this good cause!

They are also looking for shoelaces of any variety!

Please mark your calendar for this important event. In the next few weeks we’ll be looking for volunteers to provide main dish casseroles, sides, desserts and beverages. It’s never too soon to sign up for your favorite contribution.

Our annual Festival of Lessons and Carols will be held on December 26, the 1st Sunday after Christmas. Be sure to join us for this cherished tradition of the retelling of the whole story: from the fall of humanity, to the promise of a Messiah, to the birth of Jesus.

The Godly Playroom looks gorgeous after being painted this past week. Be sure to stop in and take a look. Many thanks to the Property Committee for seeing to the completion of this project!
Please take a moment and sign up for Realm! If you lost or mislaid your invitation, you can contact Jean Gentile or the church office to get another.

Once you’ve signed up, please upload a photo of yourself or your family into your profile!

Also – if you’ve already signed up but have lost the link to the Realm website, you can find it under the ACT section of our website header. And don’t forget to load the Realm Connect app onto your smart phone from the Apple Store or Google Play.

+ TECH HELP NEEDED
Our tech team allows us to reach out to our community with a livestream of our indoor services and creates the videos that preserve Father James’ sermons so they can be viewed by a wider audience. You’ve heard him speak – you know how valuable that is.

We need 1-2 more members for our Tech team. Full training provided. Contact Jean Gentile or Joe Zorc for more information or to volunteer your services. If you know of a local high school or college student who might be interested in this kind of opportunity, please contact us!

+ 2022 CHURCH CALENDARS
2022 Church Calendars are now available on the narthex table. If you are unable to get to the church and would like to have a calendar, please contact Katie (610-642-6617) and she’ll arrange to get one out to you.

+ MAY WE PRAY FOR YOU?
Intercession brings before God the needs of others (BCP p.857)
The Parish Prayer list is included in the monthly newsletter that is sent through the mail. Additional copies are also available on the table in the Narthex. To add your prayer needs to the list, you can contact Fr. James, Nancy Haas, or use the form on our website.

New Prayer Request – please add to Fridays on your Parish Prayer List that was delivered with your December newsletter: Tony & Julie – Julie is a dear college friend of Suzanne Lees and Tony is Julie’s husband. Tony was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and a PET scan this week showed that it has spread to his bones.

+ RELIEF FOR TORNADO VICTIMS
On Friday and Saturday, December 10 and 11, a line of severe weather spread across the central United States, spawning over 50 tornadoes. Many lives were lost in these storms, and homes and businesses were severely damaged or destroyed. Episcopal Relief & Development is in contact with the affected dioceses as they assess the needs in their communities and stands ready to assist in the coming days and weeks. Please pray for the people impacted by the deadly tornadoes. Donations to the US Disaster Fund will support Episcopal Relief & Development and its partners as they respond.

+ EPISCOPAL COMMUNITY SERVICES – HOLIDAY GIVING
The holiday season is one of the most important times of the year for spreading hope and light to others. With a 23.3% poverty rate in Philadelphia—one of the highest rates in the country—many families in our region could use a little hope.
At ECS we work tirelessly every day to disrupt the cycle of intergenerational poverty as we partner with families to map their trajectories toward upward economic mobility. Together, with your help, we can spread hope and bring light into the lives of those living in poverty in our region. This giving season, make a gift to ECS.
