TODAY: Due to the celebratory service at Church of the Holy Apostles and the Mediator in Philadelphia this afternoon, Sunday, October 28th, CHA’s morning worship schedule on this day will be as follows:
- 8:30 AM Morning Prayer
- 10 AM Morning Prayer (Nursery care will be provided, but no Sunday School & no choir)
Confirmation class is cancelled this week, and will resume November 11.
Regular services will resume Sunday, November 4th.

150th Anniversary Celebration Service

Holy Apostles and the Mediator,

We are thrilled to be joining our mother congregation, Holy Apostles and Mediator (HAM) in celebrating their 150th anniversary. This really is a special moment in our history. It is also a unique opportunity to make relationships and build bridges across racial and socio-economic lines. St. Paul tells us that God has given us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 2:11-21). Here is a chance to practice that ministry, to experience a great worship service, and to make some wonderful new friends.
The service begins at 3PM. At 2 PM we will begin gathering at our parking lot to car- pool to HAM. Our plan is to leave CHA no later than 2:15. Feel free to meet us there if that is more convenient.
We will have special access to a parking lot near HAM, so we will not have to find street parking. The parking lot is

† Tuesday, Nov. 6th at 6:30 p.m.: All Souls Memorial Eucharist: Commemoration of All Faithful Departed. Please submit to the Parish Office the names of any deceased loved ones that you would like included in the prayers during that service.
† Bishop Gutierrez will visit CHA on Sunday, December 9th for Confirmations, Receptions, and Reaffirmations. If you are interested in any of those rites, or would just like to know more, talk to James+.
Children and Youth
† Nursery Childcare is available during the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service for children ages 3 and younger in the Godly Play Room.
† Sunday School: No Sunday School today, October 28th due to the 3:00 p.m. service at Church of the Holy Apostles and Mediator in Philadelphia today) Classes resume next Sunday, Nov. 4th. Children Preschool – 2nd grade and 3rd – 8th grade attend Sunday classes at 10:00 a.m., the same time as the church service starts; children join their parents in the church in time for communion. Classes are held on the 1st, 3rd, & 4th Sundays of the month. On 2nd Sundays children attend church with their parents, either the 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist service or the 5:30 p.m. Family Worship Service. When there is a 5th Sunday, children attend church with their parents, with some of the children taking part in leading the service.
† Confirmation Class will be cancelled for today, October 28th, due to the 3:00 p.m. service at Church of the Holy Apostles and Mediator in Philadelphia today) Beginning in November Confirmation Class again will be held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 5 p.m.

† Fall Reading and Discussion: This fall, interested adults will read Ben Myers’s new book called The Apostles’ Creed: A Guide to the Ancient Catechism. Want to deepen your understanding of the essentials of Christian faith, and how they are relevant to your life? You need to read this excellent book! In order to include as many people as possible, James+ will facilitate several discussions about this book on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. But even if you cannot make it to the discussions you can still read this short, engaging, and very readable book. Sign up in the parish hall if you want a copy and the church will make a bulk order.
